Life with Jesus is such an adventure isn't it??
For Christmas our Auntie Hannah sent us this wonderful Bible.
(thanks again SO much Hannah!)
It has been such an encouragement to us and the kids get so excited about reading the bible in the evenings - even tho i'm not real sure they are actually paying attention. What's cool is that often I am brought to tears by the reading.
A few weeks ago we were reading the part after Jesus' crucifixion when Jesus had appeared to his disciples again. He told them again it was time for him to go home to his Father. Of course the disciples were worried and wondered how they would get to them.
Jesus responded with, "You know the way.....but first go everywhere and tell everyone the happy news - tell them i love them so much that I died for them. It's the Truth that overcomes the terrible lie. God loves his children. Yes, he really does!" The sky was filled with a dazzling light. "Now everyone can come home to God", Jesus said. "Death isnot the end of you. You can live forever with your Father in heaven because I have rescued the whole world!"
We also went out on a different adventure today to the Highfields Pioneer Village. A whole area set up to remember and enjoy the old ways of Australian culture.
Both the kids had a go at milking a cow.

Hudson was pretty excited about the warm milk and gobbled it up!

Matéa was excited about the chocolate easter egg she got for having a go at hand-milking a cow.

Then we went and had some morning tea of damper and billy tea - both cooked over a campfire. You spread butter and golden syrup on top of the damper - mmmmm.

Then they each got to hold some baby chic's - so cute :)

A good cuddle with the big old draft horses

And finally a visit to the sheep in the shearing contractors truck :) A lovely adventure for sure.

Sounds like you had lots of fun!!! I LOVE that book too. I try to read it with Ellie but can't wait till she can understand it. And much like you, I am so moved by the stories. Glad you like it!! The CD is pretty awesome too, especially the guy's voice :)
