Our first week

One week ago we ago we said goodbye to our family and friends got on a plane and after about 1,000 hours disembarked in Australia. It has been a very full week.

Let's catch you up.

We moved into the Adamson's home on Wed morning after Andrew picked us up and drove us back to Toowoomba. This has been a great place for us as we transition to living in Australia. It's providing us with a safe and quiet place with no immediate need find an apartment.

We have spent the last week working through the countless things that need to happen in order to live overseas. Opening bank accounts, getting debit cards, getting Queensland licenses, mobile phones to just name a few. We have looked at about 6 different homes over the last week as we begin the process of finding a place to lay our head for who knows how long. Hopefully a couple of years. We have also been looking for a car which is something I (Peter) really like to do (sarcasm). Once again the Lord takes care of us. Cam and Heather, our friends and fellow Student Life workers, are in the process of getting their new car so they have very, very graciously given their old one to us to use for the next couple of months. Praise the Lord!
We will now be able to take our time and find the car that is right for us without having to feel rushed. The SL (student life) team has hired a car for us to use over this last week which has been wonderful and we expect to be into the Fletcher's car in the next couple of days.

This last Monday we had a meet and greet at the office. We were able to meet everyone on staff here and are excited to build these relationships.
On Wed, Peter Brook (my boss) invited me to go work out at with him at Willows as it is bring a friend for free week. He and a small group have a personal trainer that works out with them. I wasn't quite sure what to expect as it is called Willows. I lasted about 10 min before feeling a bit sick from exertion. It must be because the air is so thin here. :)

Tomorrow I head to my first day of work. It is quite exciting- a little bit like going to your first day of school. Something that does break my heart is that my primary work computer will be a windows machine. As a fan of Mac's I can see that it will take some time before everyone is switched over.

How are we doing? Pretty well considering what we have been through over the last couple of months. The kids are getting over their jet lag thought they still want to wake up at 4:30 in the morning. Queensland doesn't follow daylight savings time so the sun comes up very early here.
Jen and I are doing good and are excited to finally get into a place that is our own. Of course then we have to fill it with furniture, appliances and other necessary things, but that too will come.

Thanks for praying, please pray that we find a place to rent, find a car to buy, and have in impact on helping Australians tell Australians about Jesus.
Peter for Jen, Matéa, and Hudson

(we just returned from looking at a place we LOVE - please pray for 14 Gundry st. to be ours if this is what the Lord has for us)

The Welcome Party for us at the Student Life Office - delicious cake!

The itty bitty hire car - we all fit very comfortably and are adjusting well to driving on the left!

Another praise and testimony of God's faithfulness was how this Action Packer (one of our pieces of luggage) made it with only 1 side fastened with a zip-ty.

14 Gundry Street, it is. How many other prayers has God answered?!! And He even uses the lowly zip-tie to show you He's watching out for you. I laughed and cried through your post. Thanks for sharing.

Aww man, hang in there. I can't imagine what you are going through right now... being surrounded by PC users can be so draining. Hopefully you can bring light to their dark lives. :) Hope everything else is going well. Do you guys have chat accounts? If so let me know what they are and we can keep in better touch.
