Dr. Appt

Thank you to those who have been praying for Hudson's kidneys. His appointment on Monday gave us a little more insight about what we can be praying for.

He was a champ for the entire ultrasound. The good news is that there is less fluid in his kidneys - meaning that the kidney reflux isn't as severe. The bad news is that both of his kidneys are under the normal size - so we will pray that God grows his kidneys in order for them to perform correctly.

We would also appreciate prayer that he won't get any UT infections, bladder infections or kidney infections (the reflux increases the chances of this) as this could damage his kidneys.

The Dr. wanted to draw some blood to make sure he didn't have a current infection. So Hudson had his first experience with the phlebotomist. This was the most traumatic part of the morning for sure :) It wasn't even the poking that he didn't like - it was being held down (and the tourniquet of course)..poor guy.
He is much stronger than he looks.
So thanks for praying....we will continue to trust the Lord with our boy and praise Him for all that He has healed in Hudson so far.

..."umm, I'm not sure I am ok with this."

"NO, definitely not ok with this!!"

Thanks Laura....he recovered pretty quickly, but it still just makes my heart ache when he cries for any reason! He's such a trooper though.

I just think it's so strange that both our kiddos have to go through the exact same things! Ugh. I'm glad his reflux isn't severe, though...at least he won't have to go through surgery anytime soon! Maddie's latest infection went from a UTI to a kidney infection, so now her surgery is the end of September. We'll be praying for Hudson's kidneys too! :-)
