Thanks for praying~
Monday
I just had a terrible morning where everything that could be discouraging was, nothing went according to plan, etc.- I felt frustrated & under lots of spiritual attack.
My team gave me grace & patience and the ‘funk’ passed & Jesus prevailed!
Dorm ladies tell us ‘ne!’ you cannot enter the dorm
Thru our broken lithuanian & phone call to jeff who speaks lithuanian we are able to enter and give away the welcome bags.
We felt so much anxiety before knocking on each door. Once we enter the door most students were super friendly and hospitable.
We learned that the EuroBasket championships were happening this week & games were scheduled almost every night exactly when we had our events planned.
The Game Night that was planned so well & efficiently was prevented due to a crazy downpour of rain. We went to plan B and met at a little cafe/pub. Played pool, took photos & watched the LT vs Turkey basketball game. LT won :) AND 18 guys came!
Tuesday
more surveys...more stories shared...thankfully we didn’t have any trouble getting past the dorm ladies.
While doing surveys Matt received a call from the Bowling alley that we planned on having our evening event at. They were quite upset that we put their name on the invitation and said we could not use the lanes we had reserved due to our naive error. We apologized & prayed...not quite knowing how God wanted the evening to go.
7:00 shows up and we had about 10 students arrive and we explained the situation. Thankfully the Bowling alley also had an upstairs area with pool tables & lots of TV’s for the basketball game. This was perfect and allowed Jason time to share his story with about 5 freshman guys...please be praying for these guys specifically. Many other deep conversations happened & we were amazed that we had 20 guys show up this night.
So many more stories of how God uses things we initially perceive as terrible in ways that are so much better than we could ever plan....because somehow in someway God can always bring life out of death and joy out of sorrow. mmmmm. Go God!
