all who are thirsty

Sorry we haven't blogged much lately, things here have been very busy with the end of the semester coming quickly. God is continuing to open doors and allow us to share His powerful story and for that we are grateful. Thank you again for your prayers and if you have time please pray for me tomorrow as I preach at our church.

I also wanted to include for you a video made by Seth Chase who is currently serving with World Relief in the Great Lakes Region of Africa, specifically in the country of Burundi. I was in Burundi for 2 weeks last year. I find it interesting to reflect on the contrast between Burundi & where we work now. The Great Lakes have faced incredible suffering over the last couple of decades and yet despite that, or maybe because of that, there is a joy that seems out of place. Right now in Burundi people are hungry and starving, the ground has been stripped of its nutrients and as their food supply continues to dwindle death will once again stalk the land. Lithuania on the other hand has experienced great economic growth, abundance of wealth & opportunity & acceptance into both NATO and the EU and yet Lithuanians kill themselves more than any other country in the world. Souls are so starved for meaning, signifigance and love that Satan has convinced them that to die is to be free.

What is amazing is how Jesus meets both of these peoples where they are. In Burundi they experience the love of Christ through organizations like World Relief that take your donations and turn it into life. The actual giving of the cup of water in the the name of Jesus. In Lithuania it is us, going to the dorm rooms of students and telling them, perhapes for the first time that God truly loves them and that they can experience the life, joy and friendship both through us and ultimitly through Him.

Here is the film and if God would have you give a cup of water to a Burundian I am sure they would appreciate it.
